NFTs that raise money for charity attract significant attention, however, there is no current platform for buyers to discover charity NFTs, nor a streamlined process for organizations or artists to list collections that support causes. By creating a cause focused NFT marketplace, NEKOIN empowers the following three groups: 1. Organizations to properly communicate their mission to buyers 2. Artists to directly associate their art with altruism and giving 3. Buyers to connect their NFT investment to supporting a cause NEKOIN is building an NFT marketplace that provides a narrative approach to raising money for causes. This marketplace will be a platform for both creators and buyers to engage in social good while also collecting appreciating assets. Our initial models will focus on having a small volume of high quality NFTs (“collections”) created by NEKOIN team artists and partnered creators. A collection will be married to a curated cause, and all transactions that occur on the marketplace will result in direct benefits to this specific cause. Benefits will be individualized and tailored for the cause; examples include direct donation of sales to charities or use of proceeds to achieve a specific goal, such as purchasing carbon credits or reforestation. Both initial sales and on-platform resales of NFTs will contribute a portion of proceeds to the cause. All stats will all be tracked and displayed. At launch, NEKOIN will handpick and onboard specific causes and creators to ensure quality and integrity, with a goal to feature a new cause every 2 months. As the marketplace matures, new causes will be featured monthly. Depending on user behavior and trends, the option of an open, self-serve marketplace will be explored and pursued. Additionally, various utility and gamification features will be created to add value to the NFTs, such as showcases, leaderboards, and special events for holders.
